Dr. Weslyn hails from the city of Chennai in South India. After completing both MBBS and Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the renowned Christian Medical College, Vellore, she widened her horizons by working in NHS hospitals in the UK for 2 years before moving to Brisbane in 2006 to work at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital for 4 years.
During this time, she discovered an emerging interest in General Practice and worked at the Emergency Department at Redland Hospital for a year in preparation to enter General Practice. She moved to rural Queensland in 2013 to do her GP training, obtained FRACGP in 2018 and continued working in the Lockyer Valley region. Though her main interests are in Women’s Health, Antenatal Care, Child Health, Immunisations and Chronic Disease Management, she enjoys the diversity of GP work and is keen to provide continuity of care to families.
Outside of work, Dr Weslyn loves spending time with her husband and twin sons. She enjoys cooking, cricket, church and catching up with her friends.
